On Monday 9th February our first competition for 2026, Smartphone Open, was expertly judged by Karl Bergin.
As he pointed out, there are both positives and negatives in mobile phone photography and the processing of images. There were some exciting images on display, all of which enforced Ansel Adams words that the most important component is 12” behind a camera and that ‘There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs’.
The members benefited greatly from his insights on the images shown and discussed.
